Book Description
يصدر هذا الكتاب في مناسبة مرور سبعين عاماً على وفاة العلامة الدكتور خليل سعادة (1834-2004)، وهو، في الأصل، أطروحة جامعية أعدت لنيل درجة الدكتوراه في الفلسفة من جامعة السوربون في باريس، سنة 1986.
ولكن هذا الكتاب، وهو يخرج في صورته الحالية، يختلف، في مواضع كثيرة، عن نسخة الأطروحة الأصلية.
تتألف الأطروحة، في الأساس، من ثلاثة أبواب رئيسية، يتناول الباب الأول سيرة خليل سعاده وأعماله، ويستعرض الباب الثاني أفكاره السياسية والإصلاحية، أما الباب الثالث والأخير فيشتمل على مقارنة بين خليل سعادة، وابنه انطون. وقد ارتأى حذف هذا الباب الثالث في النص الحالي لهذا الكتاب.
التعدل الآخر الذي أدخل على الأطروحة تناول تصويب بعض المعلومات التي كان المؤلف قد ذكرها في الأطروحة ووجد بعد قراءته اللاحقة، أنها ناقصة، كما تناول التعديل إضافة معلومات جديدة لم يكن يعرفها في فترة إعداد الأطروحة. هذه التصويبات والإضافات والتعديلات أكسبت العمل مقداراً أكبر من الموضوعية صار بفضلها أكثر رصانة وعلمية.
وقد ألحق بالنص الأصلي عدداً من الملاحق الإضافية لعلاقتها المباشرة بالموضوع، ومنها: تقرير الأب الدكتور يواكيم مبارك عن الأطروحة، بصفته القارئ الأول، ومقال هنري حاماتي الذي كتبه خصيصاً بعد المناقشة، وكلمة للمؤلف في ندوة عن كتاب "الدكتور خليل سعاده إنتاجه الفكري وجهاده السياسي" لمؤلفه جان دايه، سنة 1998، ومقالة له أيضاً يناقش فيها الدكتور ناصيف نصار في دعوته إلى ما أسماها "النهضة الثانية" وأخيراً نداء انطون سعاده إلى الجالية السورية في البرازيل بمناسبة وفاة والده هناك سنة 1934.
