أن ثمة عوامل عديدة تدفع الباحث إلى دراسة الرواية النسائية, منها الاشتياق إلى ما يكتبه الجنس الآخر تعبيراً عن معاناته. ومنها تهميش النساء والطلاب والأطفال والفئات الكادحة, فلا ندري عنهم شيئاً إلا إذا تكلم هؤلاء بصوتهم, لا بلسان سواهم. إضافة إلى ذلك هذا الهجاء المرير المنصب على الكتابات النسوية.
فإن عالم النساء الأديبات لا يقل أهمية عن عالم الرجال الأدباء, فلماذا لا نهتم بكتاباتهن بوصفها ظاهرة احتجاج ورفض في سياق ثقافي عام. وما من موضوع مهم وموضوع آخر نافل. فالكاتبات, وإن تحدثن عن الحب والتقاليد, لسن دون الرجال الذين يتكلمون في الموضوعات الضخمة, فيحتفي بهنّ النقاد.
بالمقابل تهاوى الكثير من الشعارات الكبرى, كما تناولها بعض الأدباء المعاصرين, وبات من الضروري التزام المسائل الصغرى التي تدفع المجتمع نحو تغيّر بطيء ولكن ملموس وحقيقي, مثل تحرير الفئات المهمشة كالمرأة والطفل والطالب من جوّ القمع المفروض, وسيطرة ذهنية صنمية لا تقبل الحوار والرأي الآخر.
