ليس غرض هذا الكتاب تكرار ما قيل في كمال جنبلاط، في شخصيته وأفكاره وبرامجه... غرضه إضاءة جديدة وتامة على أبعاده كلها (المناضل، المفكر السياسي، المفكر الديني، فيلسوف الإنسان والحرية والجدلية، الشاعر).
في حقل البحث، يتناول الكتاب ميادين ندرت دراستها في نتاج كمال جنبلاط (فلسفته، شعره، وغيرهما).
في النتائج، يصل البحث إلى أمور غير معروفة من قبل. بعض النتائج يتمثل في وضع إطار منطقي جامع لكتابات جنبلاط ولنضاله السياسي في آن معاً، وفي دفع البحث في فكره إلى الأعماق الفلسفية الموحدة له، والمفسرة أيضاً، وتفسير أفكار كمال جنبلاط موضوع ممتع ومحل اجتهاد ونقاش دائمين، وسيبقيان كذلك.
أما المنهج الذي اعتمده المؤلف فقام على استنطاق النصوص الجنبلاطية نفسها، مباشرة لا بالواسطة -أي منها لا عنها. ثم التحليل التكاملي لهذه النصوص، واستخراج فكرة النص، وسياقها، ومقارنتها بسواها، وربطها بالأفكار أو الأجزاء الأخرى لتكون ما بات مبرراً تسميته: فلسفة كمال جنبلاط أو الفلسفة الجنبلاطية، من باب انتساب الأفكار والفلسفات إلى أصحابها، وليس بأي معنى آخر، مثلما نقول الفلسفة الديكارتية، والهيجلية، والماركسية، وما شابه.
