في هذه المستوى يقرّب الشاعر الصورة والدلالة إلى مستوى السطح مراعياً فيه توفير الظلال لهذه الصورة مما يجعلها قريبةً بعيدةً في الآن نفسه، ولكن إذا لم يكن الشاعر الذي يكتب بهذا الأسلوب شديد الحرفية والتكنيك في التعامل مع اللغة وحساسية الموقف واللحظة الشعرية حيث يستغلّ الشاعر الحدث لينميه بطريقة مشوقة ولغة رشيقة؛ تنحو الشعرية فيه منحى التقريرية أكثر من الإشتغال الفني، فتكون كلاماً عادياً لكنه صِيغ بقالبٍ شعري أي: (وزن + قافية + كلام عادي بعيد عن الفنية = نظم بقالب الشعر).
وفي كثير من الأحيان تقع النصوص في هذا المستوى بمآزق عدة أهمها: هو أن الشعرية تقترب نحو الجمود وفقر الدلالة، فيكون الشاعر همّه القصد والوزن لإيصال فكرته أو قصته بمكوّنها السردي أكثر ما يهمّه الشعر بحدّ نفسه، فيقع بالتقريرية وينهمك بها مما يجعل الشعر فيها كلاماً عادياً مؤطراً بوزن وقافية تكبّل هذا القصد، فعندئذ لا يصبح الشعر فيها شعراً، لأن الشعر في الأساس كلام يحتوي على إيقاعٍ في بنية الكلمة، إذ ينحو فيها نحو الرؤيا مكتشفاً عوالمَ داخليةً ويفجّر قوىً كامنةً في النفس، فيهزّها ويجعلها ترتعش متسائلةً عن مصدر الجمال...
