لأن الشعر مسكن الوجود، لا يكف عن التكتم والإختفاء باعتباره قوة سرية، كان لزاماً على الشاعر المبدع الكشف عن هذا المستور والغوص في باطن الذات الإنسانية، ليترجم قلقها وألمها وأملها في لوحة شعرية صادقة، بعيدة عن التيه الخطابي، وعن التصنع والتزخرف اللفظي، الذي يلوي عنق التجربة ليحولها إلى زيف لفظي ووهم شعري، وهكذا بدا لنا الشاعر "فواز سلوم" في عميق تجربته الشعرية الملفتة (ضائعاً في وسط الفوضى) محاولة لفهم طبيعة هذا القلق الإنساني الذي بات سمة العصر، والضائع الوحيد فيه هو الإنسان، لذلك جاءت هذه النصوص الشعرية لتترجم الإحساس العميق بالضياع في غياهب هذا العالم المليء بمعاني الظلم والإستبداد والقهر.
في القصيدة التي تحمل عنوان (ضائعاً في وسط الفوضى) يقول الشاعر: "يتشكل الواقع مريراً/ في ضبابية الفوضى/ فيما أحدهم يتنصت .../ على الهاتف/ والنجم الأحمر يتسكع/ في وسط الليل الأبيض/ لأن أيامنا أزمان/ مهترئة في دهاليز انتظار/ وغيومنا خلف الجبال/ تمزج ألواناً رمادية/ وأشجارنا الخضراء/ تكتب في معاطف صوفية/ قبيل العاصفة،/ مرة أخرى بعد المليون/ ننتظر القمر وغناء الفصول/ وأنا اللامنتمي،/ ضائعا في وسط الفوضى (...)".
