وفي هذا الكتيب ما يلقي بعض النور على ظروف وتطورات هذه القضية، بعد أن دخل حلف بغداد طرفاً ثالثاً فيها، فكان من نتائجه أنه أخرجها من حدودٍ ضيقة إلى حدودٍ أوسع، بحيث بات يخشى أن يؤدي توسعها إلى أزمة عالمية وبخاصة بعد أن مدّت الشيوعية يدها إلى الموضع الحسّاس من صميمها، فكانت مفاجأة لم يكن العالم العربي بانتظارها.
