"يبحثون عن الكلمات في غصون الذكريات، عن الأحلام في كهوف الحياة، يزفون عرائس الليل، وينامون باكراً، يرمون كرامتهم في ملعب الأوهام، تصطدم الكرات، ثم لا تكون أصوات ولا أصداء، يرسمون الترهات، بألوان حقيقتهم، ويمزجون الألحان، باللغو والإهراء في الكلام، يقرعون كؤوسهم بالهواء. تكاد الكؤوس تقع من أيديهم، يقرعون الطبول... ولا حرب، كأن مرور النسيم على الجرح دواء، يعودون إلى كهوفهم، نحدوهم خفافيش الظلام، ويقودهم نعاس مغرق في العماء، ينامون ملء الجنون، ولا يشهدون ولادة فجر جديد، ولا يحسبون حساب العيون، ولا الحلم يكمن فيه الوجود".
