يقول المؤلف: إذا تمعنا جدياً في داخلنا وانطلقنا للبحث عن الذات في ماضينا وحاضرنا لتغيرت نظرتنا لمستقبلنا بمعدل 180 درجة ، وذلك في كيفية جمتعه ووسيلة إنفاقه" في هذا الكتيب الصغير سيجد القارئ تجربة حياة عاشها المؤلف مع آخرين هدفهم الوحيد جمع المال، البعض منهم أحسنوا استعماله فكانه بالنسبة لهم نقمة.
وفي الكتاب يتطرق المؤلف إلى مواضيع عديدة اساسها المال في حياة البشر منها المرض والصحة والدراسة (التعليم)، والزواج، والتجارة، مروراً بأهمية رأسمال المال بالنسبة للدول فهناك دول الشمال الغنية، وهناك أيضاً دول الجنوب الفقيرة، وعلاقة استغلال الأولى للأخيرة تحت شعار التطوير والتقدم والرفاهية. أيضاً يتطرق المؤلف إلى "علاقة المال والوقت في حياتنا" و"سيطرة المال على حياتنا"، و"المال والفقر في حياتنا" ويسوق إلى ذلك أمثلة تشكل حالات إنسانية موجودة في أي مجتمع ويولي المؤلف أهمية للعمل في حياتنا، "من عوامل سعادة الإنسان في حياته أن يحب ما يعمل" وكيف يمكن للإنسان المفروض عليه عمله هل يجب عمله أم يكفر به؟ وما هو دور قوانين العمل في الأنظمة التي لا تحترم الإنسان وجهده وغير ذلك من مواضيع تحث الإنسان إلى التطور والتقدم في حياته مهما كانت الظروف وكما يقول المؤلف "الصبر مع الحكمة في العمل وتغيير ما يمكن تغييره، والتفاؤل واستعمال الحكمة"...
