الملحمة الشعرية الساخرة هي إبداع أدبي شعري ذو طابع فكاهي، وهي تقدم في الوقت نفسه عبرة بليغة، وتسعى لنقد واقع معين أو استخلاص حكمة غالباً ما تكون في آخر الملحمة.
والملاحم الشعرية من أقدم الأجناس الأدبية؛ ففي اليونان القديمة اشتهر بها إيزوب الذي كتبها بشكل نثري (القرن الخامس والسادس قبل الميلاد)، وفي روما اشتهر بها فيدر (القرن الأول قبل الميلاد)، وفي الهند عرفت مجموعة ملاحم (بانتشاتالترا) التي تعود إلى القرن الثالث. تجري الأحداث في الملحمة الشعرية على لسان الحيوانات أو النباتات أو الأشياء لتنتقد نواقص وعيوب الأشخاص.
ومن كتّاب الملحمة الشعرية الساخرة الشاعر الروسي إيفان أنريفيتش كريلوف، الذي ولد 13/2/1769 وتوفي في 21/11/1844 في مدينة سانت بطرسبيرغ الروسية. أما أشهر كتاب الملاحم في العصر الحديث فهو الشاعر الفرنسي ج. لافونتي.
