جو نيسبو، روائي وصحفي وموسيقار وخبير اقتصادي ولد في 29 مارس عام 1960.
اشتهر جو نيسبو بكتابة الأدب البوليسي.
في مارس عام 2014، حققت كتب "جو نيسبو" مبيعات بلغت أكثر من 3 مليون نسخة في النرويج وحدها، كما بلغت كتبه المترجمة، والتي ترجمت إلى أكثر من 40 لغة، 23 مليون نسخة.
كتب جو نيسبو أيضًا تحت اسم مستعار هو: توم جوهانسون، وتحولت بعض رواياته إلى أفلام سينمائية ضخمة.

وفي هذه الرواية انكفأ المحقق هاري هول إلى هونغ كونغ، هارباً من صدمة قضيته الأخيرة في أوكار الأفيون القذرة، حين تم العثور على شابتين مقتولتين في أوسلو، غارقتين في دمهما. بلغت التغطية الإعلامية ذروتها في الحماس والتخمينات. لا توجد أية تلميحات، وتوقف تحقيق الشرطة، ولا يمكن العثور على هاري - الرجل الوحيد القادر على المساعدة. بعدما عاد إلى أوسلو، وجّه القاتل ضربته مجدداً، فتأهبت غريزة هاري البوليسية. لا يمكن لأي شيء أن يمنعه من متابعة التحقيق، على رغم توافر القليل جداً من المعطيات. والأسوأ من ذلك إدراكه سريعاً أنه يواجه مريضاً نفسياً يختبر قدراته، المهنية والشخصية على حد سواء، بطريقة لم يسبق لها مثيل.
يذكر، أن جو نيسبو موسيقي، ومؤلف أغانٍ، واقتصادي، وأحد أفضل كتّاب الجريمة وأكثرهم نجاحاً في العالم اليوم. فاز عام 2004 بجائزة "غلاس كي" (المفتاح الزجاجي)، وهي الجائزة الأهم في مجال مؤلفات الجريمة في شمال أوربا، وذلك عن روايته الأولى التي قدّم فيها محقق الشرطة هاري هول، يعيش نيسبو في أوسلو.
