الخطباء صاوا بمنزلة صياد يُسدّد على نحو ثابت مدة طويلة، ويطلق النار وأسراب الطيور تعلو وتهبط وتُغَرِّب وتُشَرِّق، ونظراً لكثرة الأحداث وتزاحم الوقائع والتطورات التي تجتاح الأمة، فإن الناس يشتاقون ويتشوّقون إلى سماع تحليل أو تقييم موقف من علمائهم ومفكريهم وقادتهم الروحانيين حول ما يُعكِّر حياتهم، ويُهدِّد مستقبلهم، لكنَّ كثيراً من الخطباء والوعَّاظ لا يشعرون بما ينتظره الناس منهم، ولذا فإنهم يكررون عين الكلام الذي قالوه منذ عشرين سنة!.
وهناك إلى جانب هؤلاء وأولئك خطباء كثيرون لا يهتمون بخطبهم ولا يُثرون أفكارهم حول الموضوعات التي يطرقونها، ولذا فطرحهم يميل إلى السطيحة وتكرار بعض المعاني المبتذلة في أساليب مكرورة معادة، ويظنّون أن التشنّج ورفع الصوت وكثرة التمايل والتحرك، تستر رداءة فقر المعاني والأفكار التي يسرقونها!.
