حيث قام المؤلف بدراسة الوضع الإجتماعي والإقتصادي للأسرة والمجتمع الذي يعيش فيه الطفل لمعرفة مدى حصول الأطفال على حقوقهم المنصوص عليها في القوانين التي كفلت لهم هذه الحقوق ومقارنتها بالمواثيق الدولية، من خلال بحث ميداني تم فيه إختيار عينة عشوائية مكونة من الأحداث المودعين في دور التوجيه الإجتماعية، وعمل مقابلات مع الأخصائيين الإجتماعيين والمختصين لمعرفة مدى حصول الأطفال الجانحين على حقوقهم وأثر ذلك على جنوحهم، وكذا معرفة الدور التي تقوم به مؤسسات الدولة ومنظمات المجتمع المدني في توفير حقوق الطفل ورعاية الطفل الحدث.
