(القذارة)...! كيف لي أن أفهم أن أول درس في الديمقراطية.. (الشطارة)..! (...) سياسة رعناء ورشاشة غدارة ديمقراطية/ عدل/ سلام وبناءٌ.. والكل يعلم ما خلف الستارة.
مع "عماد حمدي العبيدي" تتجلى الصورة المشرقة لنضال الشعب العراقي ولمقاومته الخلاقة، هو شعب يجسد إرادة الحياة، نقل شاعرنا آهاته بصور شعرية خلاقة، منسوجة بخيوط الحزن الذي سحقته الغربة؛ حتى الحب عنده لا يكون إلا مع بغداد يقول في قصيدة "عودة إلى الحبيب": سأرجع إليك بغداد سأعود إلى بيتي بعدما سحقتني الغربة (...) الحب الذي عشته مع غيرك.. لم يرويني السكن الذي اخترته بعدك.. لم يحتويني (...)".
هذا، وتحتوي هذه المجموعة على ستة وعشرون قصيدة جمع فيها شاعرنا الكل الحب والثورة والأمل والحرية، والتغيير، والتاريخ والمواجهة والتحدي. أهداها العبيدي إلى كل من يحب بغداد كما أحبها هو.
