في هذا الكتاب مجموعة شعرية بعنوان "أشعار تحت الرماد" للشاعر العراقي"عماد حمدي العبيدي" يجمع فيها بثقة وبصدق كل ما تحفل به سريرته من عشق للوطن وللمحبوبة يسأل فيما بين السطور عن معنى للوجود، وللزمان، والمكان، أو بالأحرى ما معنى وجود الإنسان قصائد يفتتحها بسؤال يقول فيها: هل سَألتْ نفسي يوماً نفسها.. لماذا أحبك..! هل سَألتْ نفسكِ يوماً نفسها.. لماذا أحببتني..! (…) هل سألنا يوماً أنفسنا ما معنى وجودنا.. ما معنى الزمان..؟ ما معنى المكان..؟ ما معنى وجود الإنسان.
هكذا هو "العبيدي" يجمع في أشعاره "أوراق من الماضي" و"خواطر" و"تأملات" ويختتمها بـ "قصائد شائكة". الشعر عنده ليس مجرد تجارب وأفكار وصور وذكريات وأحلام، إنه إشراقة أمل أراد زرعها في النفوس المتعبة والحائرة، هو لا يريد أوهاماً، ولا أحلاماً بل يريد عملاً تسمو به الروح وتزدهر عبَّر عنه شعراً يقرأ.هذا، وتضم هذه المجموعة خمسة وثلاثون قصيدة، مثلت، كل ما أراد أن يقوله شاعرنا، هي قصائد تحكي قصة الألم حين يمتزج بحبر الشعراء، فيصل إلينا لحناً شجياً يؤكد في كل يوم بأن نبض الشعراء هو نبض شعبنا العربي داخل العراق وخارجه، هي مشاعر لا تنطفئ، تتمسك بالأمل، وبالحرية، وبالحق الذي لا يموت.
