إذا كانت التنظيمات والجمعيات المعبرة عن إحساس العرب بالغبن في ظل السلطنة العثمانية قد بدأت بالتكون منذ أواسط القرن التاسع عشر فإن تطور الرؤى العربية والاساليب الكفاحية كان سريعاً في العقد الأول من القرن العشرين، الذي شهد ولادة أول حزب قومي عربي هو (حزب الجامعة العربية) الذي أسسه نجيب عازوري عام 1904، كما شهد ولادة عدد من التنظيمات عام 1909 وهي: المنتدى الأدبي والجمعية القحطانية، وأبرزها جمعية (العربية الفتاة السرية)- التي هي محور دراسة الدكتورة "سهيلة الريماوي" وهي (دراسة وثائقية) اعتمدت فيها الكاتبة على الوثائق الموجودة في مكتبة محب الدين الخطيب بالدرجة الأولى، إضافة إلى أحاديث خاصة بينها وبين عدد من رجال الحركة العربية الذين كانوا على صلة مباشرو بالأحزاب والجمعيات والحياة السياسية منذ مطلع القرن العشرين، من أمثال محب الدين الخطيب، وإحسان الجابري، وعوني عبد الهادي وعزت دروزه وحسن الحكيم وغيرهم، كما اعتمدت الدراسة على وثائق قانون جميعة العربية الفتاة، وعدد كبير من محاضر جلسات الجمعية والهيئة المركزية... ومن الأوراق السياسية التي اعتمدتها الكاتبة: الرسائل المتبادلة بين عدد من أعضاء جمعية العربية الفتاة في مقدمتهم الشهداء عبد الغني العريسي، محمد ومحمود المحمصاني واعضاء الجمعية الإصلاحية ثم المراسلات بين أعضاء جمعية الفتاة وحزب اللامركزية... ثم هناك الأوراق التي تتحدث عن ظروف عقد المؤتمر العربي الأول في باريس... كذلك الوثائق السورية ومقابلات خاصة للأحياء من الرجال الذين عاصروا تلك المرحلة، وصحف عربية وكتب متعلقة بهذه الجمعية...
توزعت الدراسة على مقدمة وثمان فصول وخاتمة: الكقدمة جاءت كتمهيد في مفهوم الحزب يلي ذلك فصول الدراسة وتبدأ بالعوامل التي أدت إلى ظهور الجمعيات السياسية والأحزاب "من الجمعيات العلمية غلى التنظيمات السياسية" (...) مروراً بالمؤتمر العربي الأول في باريس سنة 1913 وموقف جمعية الفتاة منها (...) وصولاً إلى موقف وفعاليات جمعية العربية الفتاة خلال الحرب الأولى.
