إن الصراع الأمريكي "خصوصاً" ضد الإرهاب سيستمر حتى نهاية القرن الحادي والعشرين وسيتخذ أشكالاً مرعبة وقوية عسكرياً وفكرياً بهدف صناعة عالم أمريكي جديد، تساعدنا فيه إسرائيل ومن معنا من الأصدقاء، وندمر فيه أعداءنا ممن يقولون "لا" أو "ربما" أو ممن لا يقولون شيئاً على الإطلاق.

الكلّ مصمّـم على الإرهاب ، إرهاب يحمل القرآن والسيف وآخر يحمل الذرّة والدمار.
لا بدّ من اعتراف الغرب بأنه كان يضلّـل الفكر العالمي عندما ربط بين الإسلام والإرهاب، وبين الإسلام والعداء للآخر. ولا بـدّ من اعتراف الغرب بأن أساس التطرف قد نشأ من الفكر المادي الصهيوني والأمريكي، الذي صنع لنفسه الأعداء، وبدأ يحاربهم بقوة التدمير الخارق. وفي المقابل لا بد من التفريق بين الدين الإسلامي بمميزاته الحضارية، وبين بعض الممارسات التي اتخذت الصبغة الإسلامية، وهي في الكثير ممارسات فردية محدودة بظروفها ومحدودة بمسؤولية القائمين عليها، وفقاً للقاعدة الأصولية: "أن الرجال يعرفون بالحق ولا يعرف الحق بالرجال".
ولئن حاولنا تفسير بعض الارتباطات الإسلامية بالأصولية الإسلامية المعرّفة الآن بالإرهاب، إلا أن جذر الإرهاب لم ينبت في أرض إسلامية، وليس له علاقة بأصل الدين.
ويشهد هذا الكتاب في بعض أجزائه إلى فشل النظرات الغربية للإسلام، كما يشير إلى سطحية بعض المحاولات الأصولية التي ضخمّت عبر الفكر العربي لتمثل الإسلام. ولقد تصّـور البعض أن العقد الخامس من القرن الحادي والعشرون، تاريخاً لعودة الإسلام إلى حياة المنطقة والهيمنة عليها. ولسقوط الدولة الصهيونية من فلسطين المحتلة. ماذا سيحدث حتى ذلك التاريخ؟ ما هي الصراعات الهمجية التي سنكتب عنها إلى ذلك الحين؟ إنه السؤال المفتوح الذي سنحاول الإجابة عليه في هذا الكتاب.
