حزم حقيبته بصمت ومشاعر ممزقة، وكأن لغة الضياع والحسرة اللتين رافقتاه في حياته الأولى، تهب نحوه من كوة صغيرة داخل قطار العمر الموجع، عندها طوى جسده متحسساً إغفاءة قصيرة تغسل أدرانه. ومن فتق صغيرة في قحف جمجمته لم يرقأ بعد، تسرب إليه عفن مدينته منتفشاً. حاول أن يصب عليه من رصاص مقاومته. بيد أن حالة الخور والتشتت التي تملأ روحه لم تعد صالحة تماماً لمقاومة خاسرة، في الرمق الأخير استشعر نكسته. تلمس عبارات كان يتخذها مثل تعويذة فلم تجده نفعاً، فكيف يقاوم مدينة تلبس قميص الخذلان دائماً.
