تحت عنوان "العروض في الشعر الكردي" يقدم الباحث أحمد هردي دراسة في الأوزان الشعرية في الشعر الكردي في سعي حثيث لحصر وتصنيف جميع الأوزان العروضية الموجودة في الشعر الكردي، معتمداً المصادر المطبوعة في هذا الحقل، ومنها (العروض) التي وضعها (الخليل) باعتبارها المنبع الأصلي الذي اقتبست منه الشعوب الإسلامية ومنها الشعب الكردي قواعد لأوزانها، ومنها دراسات العروض في (الفارسية) متكئاً على محاضرات (كوزان) التي يقول فيها: "بأن المنهج العروضي في الشعر الكردي يسلكه الشعراء الذين يقلدون شعراءنا القدامى الذين بدورهم اقتبسوا بعض البحور من الوزن الفارسي". هذا بالإضافة إلى مصادر أخرى، وجد الباحث فيها صوراً لتلك الأوزان التي يبحث عنها والتي لا وجود لها في الشعر العربي بطريقة تركيبها، غير أنها منسجمة مع ما أبدعه (الخليل) من قواعد وأصول، حيث لا يختلف السلوب بين العروضين الكردي والعربي إلا في استعمالات نادرة.
إنطلاقاً من تلك الرؤية يقسم الكاتب دراسته إلى العناوين الآتية: "التقطيع في الشعر العربي" ، "الكتابة العروضية" ، "التقطيع" ، "البحور الصلية والدوائر" ، "البحور الصلية بين الدوائر والواقع" ، "التفعيلات الصلية بين الزحاف والعلة" ، " الأزاحيف والعلل في الشعر العربي" ، "البحور الصلية والفرعية" (...) وغيرها من عناوين ألحقت بها تمارين وشواهد ومقطعات شعرية تشرح وتوضح فرضية الكاتب في دراسته للعروض في الشعر الكردي.
