إن تقييم أي عمل ليس بالأمر الهين أو السهل، وخاصة في مجال البحث العلمي، فقد يتفق البعض وقد يختلف البعض الآخر، ولكن تقييم عمل كميناء طرابلس البحري حظي بإجماع آراء من قرأه وناقشه وقيمه، وقد تمثل ذلك أثناء مناقشته في أحد مدرجات معهد البحوث والدراسات العربية، حيث وافقت لجنة المناقشة بالإجماع على منحه درجة الدكتوراه بامتياز وبمرتبة الشرف الأولى، واتفقنا ان هذا العمل الجاد يعتبر إضافة للمكتبة العلمية الجغرافية العربية، ومن حقنا ان نعتز به ونفخر به، لما يمثله من إضافة باحث جاد صابر ومثابر قضى وقتا طويلا في إعداده، معتمدا على ما يزيد على 200 مرجع ومصدر بالعربية والإفرنجية، بالإضافة إلى الدراسات والزيارات الميدانية التي تجاوزت مرحلة النقص في المعلومات المكتوبة والمخطوطة، فجاءت مجموعة الصور الفوتوغرافية والخرائط والأشكال البيانية المعبرة والمتقنة، لتضيف بعدا آخر لهذا العمل الجاد المرموق، الذي اعتز به شخصيا كأحد الأساتذة المشاركين في مناقشته وتقييمهن فهنيئا للمدرسة الجغرافية عامة والليبية خاصة بالباحث الكاتب الواعد د/ حسين أبو مدينه. أ د/فاروق كامل عزالدين
