من ضمن سلسلة المعراج للمؤرخ الدكتور لويس صليبا تأتي الطبعة الثانية من كتاب "المعراج في الوجدان الشعبي" ليدفع إلى البحث في زوايا وأوجه ومجالات أخرى من الوجدان الشعبي كان للمعراج أثره فيها. وأبرز هذه الأوجه التي حاول المؤلف تبينها كان أولاً أثر روايات المعراج وأحاديثه التي كانت تزداد نمواً وتفصيلاً مع نمو الأمة وتوسعها وانتشارها وقد توقف عند العديد من مؤسس هذه الفرق حول روايات المعراج ونسبتها إليهم. ففي الفصل الأول من هذه الدراسة توسع المؤلف في دراسة بعض الشخصيات في الفرق الإسلامية لاسيما الجعد بن درهم وأبو شمر الحنفي. وفي الفصل الثاني توقف مطولاً عند (معراج ابن عباس) بوصفه ظاهرة بارزة في الأدب الاسلامي عموماً والمعراجي خصوصاً فدرسه دراسة متأنية محاولاً التحقق من نسبة هذا الأئر إلى الأمام عبد الله بن عباس ودلالالته ورمزيته وخاصة أن هذا الأثر لا يزال يثير الكثير من الجدل والنقاشات الحامية: البعض يغالي في تقديره، والبعض الآخر يعتبره مدسوساً ومؤامرة بحد ذاته. فكان للمؤلف وقفة محايدة تعرض لمختلف الآراء، تغربل وتفند، وتجهد أن لا تغمط الأثر المذمور حقه. فسعى إلى مقارنة المتن بنصوص أخرى من المعاريج المنسوبة لابن عباس، وأحاديث المعراج في كتب الصحاح وغيرها بهدف فهم أكثر لخصائصه وصحته. أما في الفصل الثالث من هذه الدراسة فقد توسع المؤلف في شرح الأسفار المنحولة التي عرفت في المسيحية واليهودية أيضاً... وأخيراً ملحق يضم وثائق عن: 1- آية الله فضل الله يغني بجواز تصوير الأنبياء، 2- إسلام السنة وإسلام الشيعة/ مقابلة للمؤلف مع مجلة الرأي الكويتية، 3- مقالات في جريدة اللواء ببيروت/ للمؤلف لويس صليبا.
