فهذا الكتاب في سبعة فصول، تضمّن الفصل الأول مفهوم الرياضيات وأهميته وفروعه ومميزاته وخصائصه، ويتحدث الفصل الثاني عن المفهوم الحديث للمنهاج وعناصره ومحتواه ووسائل تنفيذه.
وفي الفصل الثالث لخصت الكاتب بعض النظريات في تدريس الرياضيات، أما الفصل الرابع فكان عن التخطيط من حيث تعريفه ومستوياته وعن الأهداف السلوكية، وفي الفصل الخامس تناول تسعة إستراتيجيات تدريسية بالتفصيل، أما الفصل السادس فقد ركّز فيه على مكونات البناء الرياضي الأربعة والتحركات المستخدمة في تدريسها، وكانت النهاية في الفصل السابع، التقويم من حيث تعريفه وخصائصه وأنواعه وخطواته وإستراتيجيات التقويم وأدواته.
