من أهم البحوث العلمية التي تعرضت بالشرح والعرض والتحليل لمنهج أبي حيان الأندلسي في التفسير حيث يعتبر التفسير البحر المحيط من أكبر كتب التفاسير التي عنى عناية شديدة باللغة ودقائقها كما أنه عنى عناية خاصة بإيراد القراءات المتواترة والشاذة في تفسيره، فلا يمر أبي حيان الأندلسي على آية من آيات الكتاب العزيز إلا ويورد دقائق اللغة والبلاغة الواردة في هذه الآية ثم يعرج إلى ما ورد من قراءات في هذه الآية.
وقد اشتمل هذا الكتاب على ثلاثة أبواب، حيث يعرض الباب الأول من كتاب لبيئة أبي حيان الأندلسي ومنهجه في تفسيره البحر المحيط وأهم أساب عنايته بالقراءات في تفسيره، كما يقوم بعرض نشأة أبي حيان الأندلسي العلمية والدينية وأهم شيوخه وتلامذته، وكذلك من تأثر بهم في تفسيره البحر المحيط، ثم يعرج هذا الباب على ما تولى من مناصب بدولة الأندلس ثم أهم مؤلفات أبي حيان الأندلسي.
ويعرض الباب الثاني من الكتاب منهج أبي حيان الأندلسي في تفسيره البحر المحيط وأي المدارس التي انتهجها أبو حيان في تفسيره لكتاب الله عز وجل وأهم مشايخه ومعلميه الذين تأثر بهم في تأليف تفسيرهومصادر أبي حيان التي اعتمد عليها سواء في التفسير أو اللغة أو القراءات.
ثم يعرض الباب الثالث والأخيرمن هذا الكتاب لأهم القراءات التي تعرض لها المؤلف خلال تفسيره لآيات وسور القرآن العظيم، وكذلك مصادر أبي حيان التي اعتمد عليها في ذكره لهذه القراءات وأسانيدها وكذلك القراءات المتواترة والقراءات الشاذة عند أبي حيان وتعريف القراءة الشاذة، وحكم قراءة كتاب الله بالشاذ من القراءات وحكم تعليم القراءات.
