إن مدارس كتاب الله تعالى وتلاوته، والبحث فيه من أعظم الأعمال، ومن مدارس كتاب الله تعلم قراءاته ورواياته، وأحكام تلاوته، وكيفية أدائه، فإنه قد أنزل على سبعة أحرف، ويقرأ وفق أحكام ينبغي على القارئ معرفتها وإجادتها.
ومن قراءات القرآن الكريم الصحيحة المتواترة: قراءة الإمام نافع المدني، أحد القراء العشرة المشهورين، ويقرأ بقراءته من روايتيه في عدد من الأقطار، وتدرس في عدد من الأماكن، ومنها برنامج "دبلوم القراءات والتجويد"، في الجامعة الأردنية.
حيث أسمد للدكتور "أحمد شكري" تدريس هذه المادة لفترة طويلة، شعر خلالها بالحاجة إلى كتاب يبين قراءة نافع ويوضحها ويقربها للمبتدئين والمتعلمين بصورة سهلة ميسرة، فقام بوضع هذا الكتاب آملاً أن يحقق المراد، وأن يكون في منهج عرضه ومحتوياته وأسلوبه، ما يفي بالغرض ويملأ الفراغ.
وقد جعل الكتاب في تمهيد وثلاثة فصول، عرف في التمهيد بالقارئ وراوييه وبعدد من المؤلفات في قراءة الإمام نافع، وبالمصطلحات الواردة في الكتاب، وخصص الفصل الأول لبيان أصول رواية قالون، والفصل الثاني لبيان أصول رواية ورش، والفصل الثالث لفرش الحروف. وألحق بآخر الكتاب متن النظم الجامع للقاضي، وذلك لصلته الوثيقة بموضوع هذا الكتاب، وإعانته الطالب والقارئ على الاستحضار، ونفاد نسخه من الأسواق وصعوبة الحصول عليه للراغبين.
ومنهجه في الكتاب أن يذكر ما يخالف رواية حفص عن عاصم، ولا يعرض لبيان ما اتفقت عليه قراءة نافع ورواية حفص كأحكام النون الساكنة والتنوين، والوقف على مرسوم الخط، وذلك للاختصار، ولأن المفترض في قارئ هذا الكتاب أن يكون متقناً لرواية حفص عن عاصم.
