إن الإيمان بالقضاء والقدر خيره وشره من الله تعالى فرض محتم على كل مسلم ومسلمة, ولا يتم إيمان إلا به, فالقدر خروج الممكنات من العدم الى الوجود واحداً بعد واحد مطابقاً للقضاء, فالقضاء في الأزل والقدر فيما لا يزال. والفرق بين القضاء والقدر هو أن: القضاء: وجود جميع الموجودات في اللوح المحفوظ مجتمعة, والقدر: وجودها متفرقة في الأعيان بعد حصول شرائطها. والقضاء علم الله السابق في الخلق وكتابته. وكان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب: الإيمان بالقضاء والقدر, القدر لا يمنع العمل, الكتابة لا تعني الإلزام والجبر, متى يصح الاحتجاج بالقدر, متى يبطل الاحتجاج بالقدر, أفعال العباد, خلق الأعمال, المشيئة والمحبة, الكسب, وغيرها من المواضيع الهامة.
