يناقش هذا الكتاب مسألة القضاء والقدر بحسب ما إنتهى إليه شيخ الإسلام "ابن تيمية". وهو كتاب تم إختياره من الموسوعة التيمية الكبرى "مجموع الفتاوى" دأب كل من الدكتور "أحمد السابح" والدكتور "السيد الجميلي" إلى شرحها وضبطها وتقديمها إلى القارئ المسلم.
يبدأ الكتاب بنظرة موجزة فيما إنتهت إليه العقائد والمذاهب في الأمم الغابرة والحاضرة كوسيلة للمقارنة بين مسألة القدر في تلك العقائد والمذاهب جميعاً وبين هذه المسألة في الديانة الإسلامية، كما بسطتها آيات القرآن الكريم. يلي ذلك تفسير للشيخ "أحمد بن تيمية" وفيه فصول ومسائل إعتمدت على إجماع المسلمين على التسليم بمسألة القضاء والقدر. يقول إبن تيمية: "إتفق المسلمون وسائر أهل الملل على أن الله على كل شيء قدير، كما نطق بذلك القرآن الكريم في مواضيع كثيرة جداً. وقد بسطت الكلام في الرد على أن من أنكر قدرة الرب في غير موضع، كما قد كتبناه على "الأربعين"، "والمحصل" وفي شرح "الأصبهانية" وغير ذلك، وقد تكلمنا على ما ذكره الرازي وغيره في مسألة كون الرب قادراً مختاراً"، وما وقع فيها من التقصير الكثير مما ليس هذا موضعه....." والمقصود بهذا الكلام بين أهل الملل الذين يصدقون الرسل فقط.
من عناوين الكتاب نذكر: نظرة الإسلام إلى القضايا والقدر، الأمور الدينية والحوادث الكونية، سؤال: أهل الجنة والنار، سؤال: حول إرادة الله في الخلق، سؤال حول المعصية، سؤال حور الرجاء، سؤال حول الخير والشر، سؤال عن القدر، فصل في قوله (صلى الله عليه وسلم): "فحج آدم موسى"، فصل في الدعاء: بين المشيئة والقدر، رد على أبي جامد الغزالي حول مسألة الكسب وطلب الرزق.....إلخ.
