هذا البحث هو محاولة مقاربة لأحد الموضوعات الفكرية المطروحة في الزمن الراهن، والتي مثلت إحدى تجليات الحداثة والدول الحديثة، وبما أن الإسلام السياسي طرح من جديد كخيار للأمة على صعيد بناء الأنظمة وقيام الكيانات السياسية وعقد الدول، وقد أصبح المشهد أكثر وصوحاً وآراءه بعد قيام الجمهورية الإسلامية في إيران كنظام إسلامي في أبعاده الأساسية وفي منهجه وإن لم يصل حتى الآن إلى الإسلامية السلوك التفصيلي، فماهية النظام وأسسه إسلامية وهو يعمل على الحكم من منطلق هذه الماهية، وبما أن البحث في نطاق المجتمع المدني يطال الماهية ويعكسها ويتأثر فيها فإن لقيام هذا المجتمع في ظل الجمهورية الإسلامية دور الكاشفية على طبيعة نظرة الإسلام إلى هذا المجتمع، وإن كان هذا الكشف غير تام بلحاظ تدخل عوامل اجتماعية متعددة في صناعة المجتمع المدني، فضلاً عن تأثير القدرات والإمكانيات المادية على نشوء المجتمع المدني، وعدم انحصار عوامل النشوء فقط بالماهية السياسية الإجمالية، فهناك مؤثرات تترشح عن طبيعة النظام وماهيته، لكن أيضاً توجد مؤثرات تحتية تعبر عن الحضارة والتراث للمجتمع الذي يحكم هذا النظام وهذا ما يغير أحياناً قابلية بعض الشعوب على تقبل أنماط من أنظمة الحكم أو عدم قابليتها على تقبل أنماط أخرى، وإن القياس والمقارنة الحاصلة بين الأنظمة من زاوية المجتمع المدني تعتبر محاولة أولية لرسم المشهد من دون الوصول إلى فلسفة أسلوب الأنظمة التي أفضت إلى النتائج التي تم تبنيها وإطلاقها.
