يدرس هذا الكتاب عدداً من الظواهر والمسائل التي ترتبط بالتفكير واللغة والتفاعلات النفسية بينهما، متضمناً بعض العناصر التطبيقية التي تدعم الأفكار النظرية وتوضحها.
ومن تلك المسائل: التفكير الإبداعي اللغوي، ومفاهيمه النظرية وعلاقاته بعدد من المجالات النفسية واللغوية، والإسقاط النفسي بصفته آلية دفاعية نفسية، وعلاقته باللغة، وكيف يتم الإسقاط داخل النفس البشرية وتترجمه لغة الإنسان خارجها، كما يدرس الكتاب تأثير القيم والقناعات في تكوّن الخطاب، وأهميتها في تحليل الخطاب مضمونياً، ومن تلك المسائل تحليل الأقنعة الشخصية التي يختفي خلفها الإنسان الحقيقي، فيمارس سلوكيات لغوية وغير لغوية تعكس - بقصد أو بغير قصد - أوضاعاً نفسية له لا يريد إظهارها للآخرين، ومنها أيضاً مسألة أن البشر يلتقطون - دون وعي منهم - جزءاً من النص اللغوي ويركزون عليه ويفهمون بقية ا لنص من خلال ما التقطوه، وهذا ما تشرحه الأداة التحليلية "واجهة النص".
أما آخر مسألة في الكتاب فهي مقاربة "المعنى الهارب"، ومبادؤها في تحليل النص، وبناؤها على نظرة عبد القاهر الجرجاني لخفايا النص اللغوي.
وتبقى مجالات التفكير واللغة والتفاعل النفسي ملهمة للدراسة والتحليل النوعي الذي ينبغي أن يكشف التعالقات الدقيقة في تقاطعات تلك المجالات فيما بينها، ليسهم البحث فيها في تقدم مؤسسات المجتمع ونضجها في تعاملها مع الإنسان واللغة.
