تعد الفينومينولوجيا نظرية وصفية خالصة للطبيعة الماهوية المتعلقة بالمكونات الداخلية للشعور، أو هي الفلسفة التي تعنى بالبدايات الصحيحة، أو الأصول الحقيقية للفلسفة الأولى. وهذا يعني أن الشأن الفلسفي لا يخرج في مناظرة نفسه وفي مناظرة تاريخه عن النطاق الذي يرسمه له عصره أي حاضره الحي.
يعتبر مؤلف الكتاب أن غرضه من هذا العمل: ليس إصطناع تأليف بين هوسرل وبين معاصريه من الفلاسفة الذيت اتبعوه لحين ومن الذين تعلموا على يديه وأتقنوا فنون المناظرة معه وليس اقتراح فحص للمؤثرات التاريخية الفاعلة بين العقول والنصوص... وإنما هو نحو من أنحاء التواجد في الزمان وشكل من أشكال المرافقة والمعايشة الروحية وسياق جامع بين صنَاع الأفكار...".
ولئن تخير المؤلف لهذا الجمع بين هوسَرل وبين معاصريه مسألة النقلة من فينومينولوجيا اللغة إلى تأويلية الفهم فلأنها من أمهات المشكلات القائمة في كل مجادلة مع هوسَرل وفي كل تحول عنه بل من محاور انتظام الفلسفة المعاصرة برمتها.
توزع الكتاب على أربعة عناوين رئيسية تشكل مقالات الكتاب وهي (المقالة الأولى): هوسَرل ومنطق الأصول أو الفكر على حافة المطلق. (المقالة الثانية): من صمت اللغة إلى لغة الصمت: فنك قارئاً هوسَرل. (المقالة الثالثة): هوسَرل والتأويلية. (المقالة الرابعة): من الحدس المحض إلى الحدس التأويلي؛ هيدغر والمناظرة مع هوسَرل ويبحث في مسألة الوجود والحدس المقولي أو الأرسطو ضد هوسَرل، ثم يتجه: نحو الحدس التأويلي: هوسَرل ضد هيفل... وبحوث ذات صلة..
