فمما لا شك فيه أن من أشد الأشياء خطورة على المسلمين أن يصابوا بالجهل في دينهم، فهذا هو أساس الداء وسبب البلاء الذي حل بالمسلمين، ومعظم الإنحرافات التي نزاها في الفكر والسلوك ليس لها سبب إلا البعد عن فهم أصول الدين، والجهل بقضايا الإيمان وعدم معرفة صحيح الدين.
كما أن معرفة المرء أمور دينه فيما يتعلق بواجباته تجاه ربه من أمور العبادات، وتجاه أهله والناس أجمعين من أمور المعاملات؛ وبصفة خاصة فيما يتعلق بمسألة الزواج من حيث مشروعيته وأهميته وأركانه وشروطه، والفرقة بين الزوجين وما يتعلق بها من حقوق وواجبات، والآثار المترتبة عليها من العدة وثبوت النسب والرضاعة والحضانة والولاية على النفس والمال؛ لمن الأهمية بمكان حتى يعيش الإنسان متوشحاً بهدي الشريعة الإسلامية التي ترشده إلى تحقيق المصالح ودرء المفاسد التي جاءت من أجلهما، حتى يعصم الإنسان نفسه من الوقوع في مشكلات لا تستقيم معها الحياة، ويستبين شرع الله تعالى، ويتبع سبيل المؤمنين.
