في حبكة درامية بالغة الإتقان، وبأسلوب سردي مشوق، خطت بدرية البليطيح، معاناة بطلة روايتها التي ولدت بجوفها منذ طفولتها، فحرمت أبسط حقوق الحياة "حنان الأم" فكان ألم الفراق يكوي بدنها الغضي، فلم يكن أمامها سوى أن تكتب ما يخالجها من مشاعر الحب، فكتبت ذات ليلة: "ها أنا ذا أكتب إليك كما وعدتك سأكتب لك قصتي بكل تفاصيلها، لم تشهد في طفولتي أو شبابي ولم تشاركيني أفراحي أو أتراحي.. ولم أشعر سوى بطيفك حولي وأتخيل يديك وهما يطوقان جسدي المرتعش فأنعم بالدفء لا تقولي بأن ذلك من وحي الخيال فقد هربت به من الواقع إلا يحق لي أن أرسم لك بقربي مقعداً ولو بخيالي لن نملك أحد الحق بمنعي من ذلك فأنا أتمتع بحقي الشرعي بك وبرعايتك لي ولو كان ذلك رسماً من الخيال...".
