تحاول الرسالة التي بين أيدينا أن تلقي الضوء على الأسباب والدواعي التي أدت إلى نشوء ما يعرف اليوم بعلم الكلام الجديد، كما وتستعرض بعض النماذج من الموضوعات الكلامية بصورتها الجديدة بغية وضع لبنة في هذا البناء الفكري الجديد. وبشكل عام تنقسم الرسالة إلى مقدمة وبابين وخاتمة: تتناول المقدمة مسألة تجدد علم الكلام، وذلك في ثلاثة فصول: يقدم الأول منها لمحة موجزة عن علم الكلام فيتناول تعريفه وموضوعه وغايته وأسباب نشوئه وأهم شخصياته ومدارسه، وفي الثاني حديث عن ملاك التجدد في العلوم والأسباب التي تؤدي إلى نشوء علوم جديدة، وفي الفصل الثالث عرض لأوجه التجدد في علم الكلام، وما طرأ على أضلاعه المعرفية، وفيه أيضاً تبيان للمعالم الجديدة لهذا العلم. ويتناول الباب الثاني بعض القضايا الكلامية على ضوء المعطيات الجديدة وهذه القضايا هي: 1-مسألة الألوهية، وعلاقة الله بالإنسان. 2-مسألة النبوة وسر ختمها بالنبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم. 3-نظام الحمم في الإسلام ومبدأ ولاية الفقيه. وبالرجوع إلى المنهج المعتمد في معالجة القضايا نجد أن الباحث اعتمد "منهج التجزئة والتركيب"، وفي فهم النصوص وتفسيرها اعتمد على "المنهج الهرمونطيقي".
يتناول البحث علم الكلام الجديد، وما يعنى به من مواضيع ويتعرض لتاريخه ومراحل تطوره بأسلوب استدلالي رصين.
