(التربية طريقنا إلى التقدم) كتاب تعالج من خلاله "أديل حمدان تقي الدين" أموراً حياتية مهمة، تتماشى في مضمونها مع مفاهيم التربية الحديثة. منها ما يناقش حالياً في المؤسسات التربوية، وفي لمؤتمرات العالمية، وفي وسائل الإعلام على أنواعها.
هو كتاب ضروري لكل فرد/ مهما كان وضعه العائلي أو عمله أو اختصاصه. فالقارئ إما أب أو أم أو معلم أو مراهق أو شاب أو فتاة يتطلعان إلى الزواج، وتكوين عائلة وإنجاب أولاد، ومن هنا تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب ذلك أن إشكالات الأسرة والأفراد، وطرق التربية من أهم المووضعات التي تهم كل جيل، وخاصة علاقة الوالدين بالأنباء، والمعلم بتلاميذه، إضافة إلى علاقات الأفراد بعضهم بالبعض الآخر تقول المؤلفة عن هذا العمل (... إن معظم ما كتبت من مواضيع، أو طاب إلي أن أتكلم فيها، كان يدور حول قضايا تربوية متنوعة تهم الأساتذة وإدارات المدارس وذوو الطلاب أنفسهم، كما تهم أفراد الأسرة والمجتمع بشكل عام..."
أيضاً يتضمن الكتاب بعض المقالات التي اختارتها المؤلفة وضمَنتها في كتابها هذا حيث كتبتها في ظروف سياسية واقتصادية تعكس معاناة الناس، كما تعبَر عن ظروف ما زال اللبنانيون يعانون منها. وقد نشرت في الصحف اليومية، أرادت المؤلفة حفظها شهادة للتاريخ لما مرَ به أبناء الوطن الواحد من أحداث مؤلمة ومعاناة قاسية، عسى أن يشكَل عبرة للأجيال القادمة.
تم تقسيم الكتاب إلى خمسة فصول، الفصل الأول: محاضرات في التربية، والفصل الثاني: كلمات ألقتها المؤلفة في "حفلات تخرج" في ثانويات في لبنان. والفصل الثالث: كلمات في مناسبات وطنية، والفصل الرابع كلمات ألقتها المؤلفة في حفلات تكريم أقيمت لها في مؤسسات ثقافية وتربوية، ويأتي الفصل الخامس والأخير في: بعض المقالات التي نشرت في الصحف والمجلات في لبنان.
