حظي الشعر العربي بإهتمام كبير من المتلقي القديم، ذلك أن هذا الفن الأدبي كان يشكّل لدى العرب ديوانهم الذي يحتوي سجلاً لتاريخهم بكل أبعاده الدينية والسياسية والإجتماعية: مما جعل الإهتمام به لديهم أمراً سائداً.
وتكشف قراءة التراث الأدبي عن حضور مهم للشعر في المؤلفات التي تركها لنا القدامى، على إختلاف إتجاهاتها في التأليف، وقد اتخذ ذلك الحضور أنماطاً مختلفة من التلقي.
ويضم هذا الكتاب مجموعة من الدراسات التي تحاول أن ترصد بعض أنماط التلقي عند العرب القدامى.
أما أولى هذه الدراسات، فإنه يتناول أحد أنماط التلقي عند القدامى، وهو ما عرف عند العرب بالسيرورة، التي تعني الإنتشار الواسع للشعر، وحاولت أن أكشف عن العوامل التي تسهم في سيرورة الشعر، وعن مدى العلاقة بين السيرورة وجودة الشعر الذي يحظى بهذه المكانة.
وأما الثانية، فقد توقفت فيها عند تلقي القدامى لإحدى القصائد الجاهلية، وهي دالية عمرو بن معد يكرب، إذ سعت إلى الوقوف على ملامح حضور هذه القصيدة في مؤلفاتهم، التي اتسمت بتنوع المادة الشعرية التي تستدعيها.
وأما الدراسة الأخيرة، فكانت رصداً لحضور النتاج الشعري لكل من الأخطر وجرير والفرزدق في كتب المختارات الشعرية وقراءة هذا النمط من التلقي كان يتلمس الكشف عن مدى إمتداد بعض الأحكام النقدية حول هذا الثلاثي الأموي، إلى هذه المؤلفات التي تعتمد على الإختيار.
ولعل هذه البحوث تقدم في مادتها المعرفية، وما توصلت إليه من نتائج، إضاءة جديدة للباحثين حول تلقي العرب القدامى للشعر.
