كتاب "الأباطيل والمناكين والصحاح والمشاهير" للإمام الحافظ "الحسين بن إبراهيم بن جعفر الجوزقاني" من الكتب المليئة بالعلم العزيز. وهو بالتالي من الكتب الجديرة بالاقتناء لما فيه من علم مفيد لكل بحث عن الصحيح والسقيم من الأحاديث النبوية. ولذلك عني "محمد حسن محمد حسن إسماعيل" بتحقيقه وتخريج أحاديثه، وبالرجوع إلى مضمون عمله نرى أنه يتجلى بـ: أولاً: قدّم له بمقدمة مفيدة للغاية، أوضح فيها: 1-الحديث الموضوع، 2-الحديث الباطل، 3-الحديث المنكر، 4-الحديث الصحيح، 5-الحديث المشهور، 6-الحديث الشاذ، 7-الحديث المضطرب، 8-الحديث المدلس، 9-حديث المجهول، 10-توثيق ابن حبان في الميزان، 11-قولهم: رجاله رجال الصحيح، ليس تصحيحاً للحديث، 12-عدم الاعتماد على سكوت أبي داود، 13-تقوية الحديث بكثرة الطرق ليس على إطلاقه، 14-لا يجوز ذكر الحديث الضعيف إلا مع بيان ضعفه، 15-ترك العمل بالحديث الضعيف في فضائل الأعمال، 16-لا يقال في الحديث الضعيف، 17-وجوب العمل بالحديث الصحيح وإن لم يعمل به أحد، 18-أمر الشارع للواحد أمر لجميع أفراد الأمة. ثانياً تخريج الآيات القرآنية. ثالثاً: تخريج الأحاديث النبوية وبيان درجتها من حيث الصحة والضعف. رابعاً: عني بعزو أقوال الأئمة في الجرح والتعديل لمصادرها. خامساً: علّق على غريب الأحاديث والآثار.
