له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.

"وفي ما تبقى من نزهاتهما، النزهات الأخيرة التي لم يكن قيامهما بها ضرورياً، سيظلان يشغلان خيالهما ويعملانه، لكن بما يصنعانه صناعة لا بما يتذكرانه. يؤلفان مشاهد لبشر لا لأبنية. في مشهد: ساهرون كثيرون بياقات وبدلات لامعة، لكن لا أثر للصالة التي جمعتهم. في مشهد آخر: الرجال أنفسهم ناظرون إلى جهة واحدة. أما النساء القليلات الواقفات وراءهم، واللواتي لا يظهر في أثوابهن الاختلاف الذي يحتجنه لسهرهن، فبدون بعيدات، في الخلف، وناظرات إلى شيء بينهن. ربما احتجن هنّ أيضاً إلى مشهد خاص بهن."
