في قصيدة "شاهدة قبر من رخام الكلمات" قدم يحيى السماوي نصّاً يمكن القول أنه من عيون نصوص الرثاء في الشعر العربي المعاصر، ضرب فيه على أوتار المعاني الفردية والوجودية والنفسية والفلسفية والأسطورية لموضوعة الموت؛ وغاص عميقاً في ظلمات اللاشعور الإنساني الذي ينكر عادة فناءه الشخصي ويقرّ بفناء الآخر.
لقد كشف الشاعر بلا لبس مقدار الألم الساحق الذي يعتصر روحه بفعل موت أمّه، وما تعنيه تلك الخسارة لفقرائها وعصافيرها، ورسم صورة الأم الحنون المعطاء المتصالحة مع ذاتها ومع الطبيعة والكون الصغير المحيط بها، الأمر الذي يضاعف من شعورنا بجسامة الخسارة، كما صور الشاعر بصدق موجع الزلزلة التي صعقت وجوده بفعل هذا الرحيل، وكيف تعاونت صدمة الفقدان مع ضغوط المنفى على تمزيق إرادته وإيقاعه في فخ الإكتئاب واللامبالاة.
لكن الموت يمكن أن يكون فرصة لا تعوّض لإنضاج الشخصية وتطورها، يتم ذلك عبر الوقوف عند المضامين العميقة للغز الموت، الحي الذي لا يموت، ولمعنى هذه اللعبة المسماة الحياة الموت في حركتها التي لا تهدأ والتي تطحننا بين فكي الزمان.
