"آه كم يحزنني يومُ غيابك. أفتح المنديل، أدني من فمي أطرافه رائحة ملأى مساءاتٍ ودمعاً. إنه منديلك المطوي من يوم غيابك. كنت أخشى فتحه. من يفتح الأحزان؟ لا شمسك في طياته، أو غابة الليلك في عينيك، بل فيه تواشيح سحابك، واشم الآن كم أني وحيدٌ. مطرٌ يملا روحي. مطرٌ يملا وديان كآبتي، وقد غطّت نساء الحور في أيلولها المصفر قمصان ضبابك. عبثاً أقنع نفسي أن أدق الباب في بيتك يوماً، رغم أني لم أزل مقتنعاً أنك تحيين بعيداً بانتظاري، رغم أني لم يزل بعد معي... مفتاح بابك. ليس عندي غير منديلٍ لك. كم كنت أخشى فتحه. أحببتني، أحببتني، أحببتني، لكنني الزينة، والأمشاط، والأحذية الحمراء، والسوداء، والبيضاء، والعطر، هداياك، الذي علّقته عندي، وفي غرفة روحي، من ثيابك. لم أزل أذكر أنني أرسلتها اليوم إليك. غير أني لم أُعِدْ منديلك المطوي عندي. ما الذي أبقاه عندي؟! وأنا الآن حزيناً أفتح المنديل، أُدْني من فمي أطرافه، أغمره ممتلئاً منك ومني الآن أشواقاً ودمعاً، وله رائحةٌ ملأ بِصَغْصا عذابي، وعذابك. إنه منديلك المطويّ من يوم غيابك".
في شعره حزن وغياب، وكلمات تخلق إيقاعات موسيقى تتردد ملحاحة في أعماق النفس، وفي شعره عمق معاني واستشفافات ينشغل بها العقل والفكر، وفي شعره انتقاءات فلسفية تأخذ القارئ بعيداً ليغوص في فلسفة الإنسان والإبداع والحياة.
