ربما تكون شعرية "باسل بديع الزين" تعبيراً عن تجربة حياتية تتداخل فيما بينها العلاقات الإنسانية الملتبسة والدائرة على مدار الزمن والشخوص فما يحمله عنوان الكتاب "كأنك صوتي في انكساره الأخير" يكشف عن قراءة متأنية اكتسبت ميزتها من غناها بالرموز والإشارات التي تحمل أنين مدينته التي ينقصها الفرح يقول "فليس بالحزن وحده نحيا" / حدثتني عروس الجهات / في طوافي المؤبد / حول كعبة المعنى الأخير / فهلا أنبأتني يا عراقة الفقد / أينها وردة الغناء؟ / أينه صراخ تموز / في أرض نفس اليباب؟ / فجل ما هناك أنثر محتملة / ترقص فوق شفير أضدادي / عند منتهى الغياب (...)".
هذا وقد ضم الكتاب قصائد متعددة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية:
شي ما من تلك الرائحة، قصص آدم وحواء، مونولوج آدم يقطعه صوت الشيطان أحياناً، صوت آدم، الأسطورة الهائية، مراحل الأسطورة . 1- الحلم المستحيل، 2- الفناء، 3- الحلول، 4- الوصية والرؤيا يليها: الظلال – البقايا – الرحيل (...) الخ.
