لين وحنين (مَسِرْواتيان) لامرأتين تشكل كل واحدة منهن حالة وجدانية بعينها، عرض في سياقها "باسل بديع الزين" لرؤى حساسة وجريئة تشي وتنم عن المرموز الإلهي، وجدلية الحياة والموت، الحلال والحرام كل ذلك يدور في عالم رمزي، تخيلي، ربما أراد من حلاله المؤلف التعبير عن ذلك الخواء والعبث وانعدام المعنى الذي بات يغلف حياتنا، وفي هذه الحال تصير أهم الأشياء في الحياة غير قابلة للتعبير عنها بكلمات، وإنما برموز مثل "العابر" المحاور الذي يقدم من خلاله المؤلف رؤيته " ... الناس كالذكريات، يتموهون في أحايين كثيرة ليتخذوا شكل النسيان، لكنهم في عمق أعماقهم يعرفون أن الماضي هو فرصتنا الوحيدة للإقتصاص من حاضر كل من أساء إلينا في يوم من الأيام، وكل ما يشيعه عن طي صفحات الأمس ما هو إلا حديث خرافة، أو استعداد موارب للإيهام بأن ما حصل قد حصل، وأن وحده ما ينسج في الظل لا يمكن أن يمحوه الأصل، وأن الإنتقام لا يكون إنتقاما إلا إذا حصل في غفلة من الوقت والترقب والحسبان". وهكذا بهذا الخطاب الروائي يبني مؤلف (لين وحنين) فضاءً روائياً خصباً، يجادل، يناقش، ويكشف عن المسكوت عنه، ولعله أكبر مما تقتضي حكاية لين وحنين ما يستعدي في المقابل جهداً في القراءة.
