ينعقد موضوع البحث حول مبحث نظام مراثي الخنساء برصدنا الشروط التي تسود قصائدها لأنّ للشعراء، وهم دعاةً وهداة وحكماء، طريقة في سياسة الكلام وفي تصريف الأقاويل الشعرية طريقة مغايرةً بترتيب الفصول ووصّل فواتحها بخواتيمها وفق نظام فنّي وليس ذاك بغريب في مجتمعٍ التفّ دائماً حول نصّ فتنهم بإلتقاطه أوجاع الإنسان بما يكابد في حياته من صعوبات الإنفصال عن ذوي الرّحم والقربى.
ورغم كثرة الدراسات النقدية التي اهتمت بالشعر الجاهلي فهي لم تُحطُ علماً بكلّ جوانبها ومنها نظام جنس المرثية عند الخنساء عندما وصلت المُنفصل وجاورت بين حدث جليلٍ وقولٍ جميلٍ مجاورة جمالية، فقدّمت المراثي القول الفصل لكلّ الأسئلة المرتبطة بشؤون الحياة والممات وبأدب التعازي والإصطبار وكشفت حقيقة خضوع المرء إلى قدره المقدور، ولأنه لم يغرَ أحد من مصيبة بحميم؛ ذلك قضاء الله تعالى على خلقه، فكل تكلّم إما معزياً او متعزياً وإمّا متصبّراً محتسباً فجعلت من محنة الفراق والإنفصال منحة جمالية، فيها تصوير الراثي التقابل الحادَّ بين وَهَنٍ الإتصال ويقين الإنفصال، فهو كون شعريٍّ يتأرجح بين تصوّرين متقابلين إزاء فلسفة الحياة والموت.
وهكذا نستقبلُ خطايا شعرياً فاجعاً مربكاً فتفرُّ إذاك من كراهةٍ الموت إلى التسليم بسطوته على الأحياء، وتتبدّى الذاتُ الشاعرةُ موجوعة بألم الفقد، فتثير أقاويلها الشعرية الشاجية ومعانيها المُبكية فينا أبداً تباريح وتنبهّنا إلى وعي جديدٍ وأنه بقدر ما تتماسك بنية المرثية ويكتملُ معمارها تسلب الخنساء الموت وحشته وتخلع عنه رهبته وتلبس المرثي رداءَ الحياة وعبادة الخلود.
