درج أهل البيت عالى السير أفراداً وجماعات لزيارة سيد شباب أهل الجنة أبي عبد الله الحسين رضي الله عنه في مناسبات عديدة بخاصة زيارة الأربعين. من هنا يأتي هذا الكتاب الذي يضم بين دفتيه الروايات الواردة في هذا البابنم وجوامع ما ورد في الفضل والثواب في زيارته رضي الله عنه، وفوائدها، وذلك بهدف أن يكون الزتئر على بصيرة. وتم ورود ذلك ضمن أبواب بلغت 451 باباً. من هذه الأبواب: إستجاب المشي إلى زيارته، زيارة الحسين فرض وعهد لازم على كل مؤمن ومؤمنة، ثواب من أنفق في زيارة الحسين، ما يكره إتخاذه لزيارة الحسين، زيارة قبر الحسين من أحب الأعمال إلى الله، من زار الحسين كمن زار علياً، من زار الحسين كتبه الله في عليين، إن فاطمة تحضر لزوار قبر ولدها الحسين، إن الحسين ينظر إلى زواره، يتنزل على الحسين في كل وقت صلام سبعون ألف ملك لا تقع عليهم التوبة إلى يوم القيامة، إن الملائكة بزائر الحسين حتى يذهب ويرجع، دعاء الملائكة لزوار قبر الحسين، ما من شيء إلا وهو يغبط زائر الحسين...إن زيارة الحسين علامة لمحبة أهل البيت، من أراد الله به الخير قذف في قلبه حب الحسين وحب زيارته، من سره أن يكون على موائد النور يوم القيامة فليكن من زوار الحسين، إن في زيارة الحسين تنقى الكروب وقضاء الحوائج، تأكد إستحباب زيارة الحسين ليلة عاشوراء ويوم عاشوراء، كراهة التخلف عن زيارته، ما يستحب من القراءة والدعاء عند أخذ التربة الحسينية للإستشفاء، بالإضافة إلى العديد والعديد من العناوين والأبواب فيما جاء في المشي إلى زيارة قبر الحسين رضي الله عنه.
