يضع المؤلف بين يدي المعلمين هذا المؤلف؛ ليكون لهم عونا في أداء الواجب، ومرجعا إذا احتاج إليه أحدهم، وتسهيلا للقارئين كان هذا الكتاب في ثلاثة أقسام.
أما القسم الأول: فقد وقع في خمسة فصول، عولجت من خلالها المهارات اللغوية الأربع: حيث خص الفصل الأول بالحديث عن المهارات بشكل عام؛ تعريفها، وأنواعها. إضافة إلى المهارة الأولى وهي مهارة الإستماع. وتناول الفصل الثاني مهارات الحديث. وتعهد الفصل الثالث المهارات القرآنية. وجاء الفصل الرابع ليعرف بالمهارات الكتابة. وختم هذا القسم بالفصل الخامس الذي عني بالقواعد اللغوية.
وأما القسم الثاني من هذا الكتاب فقد تكفل بمعالجة الدراسات الأدبية، فاندرج تحت هذا القسم خمسة فصول أيضا، حيث عالج الفصل الأول منه الأدب بشكل عام.
كما عني بدراسة مجالات الأدب المتمثلة في النصوص، والمحفوظات، والقصة، وطرائق تدريس كل منها. وأفرد الفصل الثاني لتاريخ الأدب. وفي الفصل الثالث، تم الحديث عن التراجم الأدبية. وأنيط بالفصل الرابع الحديث عن النقد والبلاغة. وكان خاتمة القسم الثاني الفصل الخاص بالعروض.
وأما القسم الثالث، فقد كان برمته ميدانا لنماذج تطبيقية مختارة لبعض فروع اللغة، حيث ضم هذا القسم عشرة نماذج شاملة للقسمين الأول والثاني.
ولقد ذيل هذا المؤلف بقائمتين من المراجع: الأولى أطلقت عليها المراجع الأساسية والثانية: المراجع المساندة.
