تاريخ القضية الفلسطينية دولياً على مدى السنوات العشر قبل نشوب الحرب العالمية الثانية إلى ما بعد انتهائها سنتين، إنما هو تاريخ لجان التحقيق التي رمت إلى تخدير العرب وإجهاض الحركة الوطنية الفلسطينية، وإشاعة الانقسام في الصف العربي، مما أدى إلى ضعف في المواجهة التي لم تكن على مستوى القضية، في حين سخرت الصهيونية كل ثقلها أمام اللجان مستعملة مختلف الأساليب للتأثير في أعضائها.
ونظراً لأهمية هذه اللجان تناول الكاتب في مؤلفه "القضية الفلسطينية ولجان التحقيق 1937-1947" بحث جميع هذه اللجان كل واحدة على حدى، فبحث في خلفياتها (الظروف السياسية والدولية التي دعت إلى تشكيل اللجنة، وطريقة التشكيل، وقوامها البشري) وأبحاثها ومناقشاتها والتقارير والشهادات التي درستها واستمعت إليها وتقاريرها وتوصياتها، وأثر هذه التوصيات، ومدى تطبيقها وانعكساتها على المستويات المختلفة، الفلسطينية والعربية عموماً والصهيونية واليهودية عموماً، والبريطانية والدولية. وقد عالج الكاتب جمال محمد قدورة هذا الموضوع الهام في تاريخ القضية الفلسطينية بكثير من الموضوعية والتجرد.
