يعالج كتاب "يسوع في التلمود: المسيحية المبكرة في التفكير اليهودي الحاخامي صورة يسوع في التلمود: المدونة الحاخامية الشفوية المتراكمة على أكثر من خمسة قرون والموزعة بين أورشليم وبابل، فيسوع والتلمود موضوع متباين يصل أحد التناقض، فعلاقة أحدهما بالآخر علاقة مشحونة بتاريخ ديني تنافسي، يحاول كل طرف أن يوظف أدبياته اللاهوتية في تمكين موقفه وتجذيره.
الدراسة الحالية تحاول أن تعيد تركيب صورة يسوع في الأدب الحاخامي وتصنيفها بحسب موضوعاتها المنتخبة دون غيرها في ذلك الأرشيف الديني، ثم تحلل المباني والأنظمة السردية المساهمة في تكوين تلك الصورة بالإستعانة بالسياقات التاريخية والمثيولوجية المتناوبة في إخراج ملامح قد لا تكون مكتملة بدرجة عالية الوضوح؛ إلا أنها قد تمنح إمكانية في الإستيعاب والسبر ليسوع التلمودي.
