كما يقيِّم الكتاب النظريات والإتجاهات البحثية في الباراسيكولوجيا من منظور الفكر الصوفي متمثلاً بالطريقة العلية القادرية الكسنزانية، ويسهب الكتاب في شرح حالة الشلل التام التي انتهى إليها علم الباراسيكولوجيا بسبب إتخاذه نزعة مادية بحتة متمثلة في محاولته سلب الظواهر الخارقة كل مركّباتها الروحية من خلال "أنسنتها" بإفتراضه أن الإنسان مصدر ومركز ومحور كل القدرات الخارقة.
هذا ويتناول الكتاب ما قام به المؤلفان من دراسة شاملة لصنف خاص من القابليات الخارقة للعادة التي أذن أساتذة الطريقة العلية القادرية الكسنزانية لمريديهم بإستعراضها، وهي الفعاليات المعروفة بــ"الدرباشة"، خلال ممارستهم للدرباشة يعرض المريدون أجسامهم بشكل متعمد لإصابات تكون في الظروف العادية غاية في الخطورة، بل غالباً مميتة، ولكن دون أن يُصابوا بأذى.
ويتناول الكتاب دراسة ظواهر الدرباشة من منظور العلوم الحديثة، مبيِّناً الأثر الإيجابي الكبير الذي يمكن أن تتركه دراسة هذه الظواهر على العديد من العلوم.
إن موضوع هذا الكتاب الرائد يجعل منه الأول من نوعه لا على المستوى العربي فقط ولكن عالمياً كذلك.
