القوميّة العربيّة أو العروبة هي الإيمان بأنّ الشّعب العربيّ هو شعبٌ واحدٌ تجمعه اللّغة والثّقافة والتّاريخ والجغرافيا والمصالح.
يدعو القوميّون العرب إلى دولة عربيّة واحدة يجب أن تقوم لتجمع ذاك الشّعب من المحيط الأطلسيّ إلى الخليج العربيّ؛ (يُستثنى منهم، في هذا المجال، القوميّون السّوريّون).
يؤمن القوميّون العرب بالعروبة عقيدةً ناتجةً عن تراثٍ مشتركٍ من اللّغةِ والثّقافة والتّاريخ.
يطمح هذا البحث إلى دراسة مفهوم الأمّة في الفكر القوميّ العربيّ، من حيث هو فكر تنظيري يتوخّى التّمظهر بشكلٍ "سياسي" قادرٍ على تقديم الحلول الجذريّة للمشكلات الحضاريّة العربيّة كافّة، وتالياً على "النهوض بالأمّة".
كما ويتوخّى، بشكلٍ موضوعيّ تعليليّ، أن يجيب عن سؤالٍ ملحٍّ: لماذا أخفق هذا الفكر في الوصول إلى النّهوض علماً أنّه، من النّاحيّة التّنظيريّة، يتوخّى المثاليّة، كما أنّه "رافق" "النّهضة" بمعناها "الإفتراضي" العريض، وعبر مسارها التّاريخي المفترض؟.
يستمدّ هذا البحث أهمّيّته، على المستوى الفكريّ الحضاريّ، كونه يتماسّ مع مفهوم الأمّة والدّولة من حيث هو سقفٌ أيديولوجيّ لازم وضروريّ "للبناء" الإجتماعيّ الطّامح إلى النّهوض.
