فالعلوم السياسية والإقتصادية والإجتماعية والأنثروبولوجية والتاريخية بالتحديد، وكما يتداولها المثقفون العرب، هي علوم غربية بالمنهج، وتقارب قضايا الغرب بشكل أساسي، ولا نستطيع أن نسقط عليها عالمية مضمونها، لأن العديد من المفاهيم المتداولة لا ينطبق على الواقع العربي.
ونعرض في هذه المحاولة ملاحظات حول ثلاثة مفاهيم مركزية في الخطاب السياسي العربي المعاصر، كمفهوم الحرّية، ومفهوم الدولة، ومفهوم الديمقراطية، ونضيف إليها أيضاً ملاحظات حول أسس الفكر الإقتصادي، وما يطيب للعديد من المثقفين العرب في إثارة قضية "الآخر".
