الجهاد... درجة من درجات البذل، وهو بذل أقصى ما في الوسع والطاقة من قول وفعل، غير أنه يرتبط بالإيمان الصادق الصافي، ويصدر عنه.
وهو أعلى حالات استنفار الطاقات الروحية والنضالية، لذا قيل ويقال، إن الموقف النضالي، بلغ مستوى جهادياً، بمعنى أن ليس كل فعل نضالي، يبلغ مستوى الجهاد.
ولا يتحقق المستوى الجهادي، إلا بالإيمان، الإيمان بالله تعالى بوجود قضية عادلة، يدافع عنها الإنسان، فرداً أو جماعة أو شعباً، ويتوحد فيها الأخلاقي والضرورة، كما يتوحد فيها الوعي العادل، الصادر عن ضمير طاهر وعقل حي.
ولا تتحقق اللحظة الجهادية، إلا بوجود قوة غاشمة وخصم ظالم، وميدان للمواجهة بين ما هو حق وعادل، وما هو منحرف وغاشم... وحين يعمق الإيمان إرادة مواجهة الظلم والإنحراف، مهما كانت التضحيات في مثل هذه المواجهة، بل حين تصبح التضحية، هي الميزة التي تقرب المضحي من الإيمان، وربما كانت الشهادة طريقاً إليه...
إن الرؤية الجهادية، بكل تبعاتها ومسؤولياتها ومخاطرها، ليست رؤية عدمية، وإن الشهادة ما كانت ممارسة إنتحارية، بل أصدق حالات إكتشاف الإنحراف والظلم والعدوان، ولذلك عبرت عن جوهر القدرة العادلة في مواجهة القوة الغاشمة...
