يعالج هذا الكتاب فصولاً تاريخية غامضة وإشكاليات، منها نسب التنوخيين وآل أرسلان وآل عبد الله وبني فوارس، الذين يعتبرهم الكثيرون من المؤرّخين من حلف تنوخ أو من قبيلة تنوخ، فيما هم مناذرة لخميون ينحدرون من الملوك المناذرة الذين حكموا في الحيرة مدة 364 سنة، ولا يجمع بين أحد فروعهم (التنوخيين)، الذين ينتمون إلى الأمير تنوخ، سوى الإسم فقط.
كما يعالج الكتاب إماراتهم وفروعهم وإسهامهم في إنتشار مذهب التوحيد الدرزي في لبنان، ونسب المعنيين ومذهبهم وعدم إنقراضهم والفصول الغامضة من تاريخهم، وخاصة في عهد الفرنجة والمماليك، وإشكاليات شخصية فخر الدين الأول، ونشأة فخر الدين الثاني ورمزيته وشخيصته الخلافية في تاريخ لبنان.
