..استقرت نفس فياض الفارس، وأخذ يألف بيته الذي يسميه، بـ(الحميم الدافئ) فأعد فنجان قهوة، وملأ غليونه، وخلع نظارته، واستلقى فوق الديوانة.. يفكر، نعم يفكر في نهاية كل شيء.. الغافقي الذي رحل وأنهى تلك الغصة التي كان يتركها في نفسه كلما دخل فيه، أو كلما رآه، المقهى الذي لم يبق له من الزبائن إلا القليل بسبب إغلاق المحل العمومي، فقد جاءت البارحة عند الساعة العاشرة والنصف صباحاً لجنة، وجردت المحتويات الموجودة فيه، وأعطت إنذاراً لكل العاملات والعاملين فيه بإخلاء المحل خلال عشر ساعات فقط، وما إن جاء المساء وتعمم على الناس والحارة، حتى جاءت دورية شرطة أخرى ورئيس المخفر وبدأوا بإخراج كل النساء اللواتي كن يشتمن الحكومة والشرطة وهن يجمعن أشياءهم الرقيقة في الحقيبة الكبيرة، ويخرجن من الحارة باكيات منتحبات، و(الله لا يوفق الذي كان السبب ولعن الله كل من يحب أذى الناس).. و(يسقط كل من له يد في الرحيل)، وتحت شعار (لا يأس مع الحياة ولا حياة مع اليأس) انطلقت الجموع الباكية، كل واحدة أخذت سيارة، واتجهت إلى عمق المدينة وحاراتها، وأزقتها وشوارعها الحديثة للعمل والابتداء من جديد والانطلاق إلى النضال السري، وتكوين شبكة سميت بشبكة العنكبوت، رأستها إحداهن، وخيوطها تتوزع على كل نساء الحي ولكن دون أن تعرف واحدة الأخرى، أو تشاهدها.. ويتم ذلك بمواعيد دقيقة يعجز عنها أعتى الكمبيوترات، وبحيث أن سجلات الشرطة مثلاً لم تسجل ولا حادثة ضبط لأحد الأزواج زوجته أو أحد الأخوة أخته أو أحد الآباء ابنته.
في الحارة القديمة ظل فياض وحيداً.. بيته، عالمه الخاص، لم يكن يستطيع ترك مسرحه، لم يعد أحد يرغب في شرائه بعد أن هجر الناس الحارة. الأيام القادمة أثبتت أنه لم يبق وحيداً.. بدأ يرى بعضاً من أولئك الذين لم يجدوا مكاناً في المجتمع الجديد.. عادوا بسبب عاهاتهم أو خبلهم.. أو بعضاً من النسوة اللواتي تجاوزهم السن القانوني.. أو ممن طغت بشاعتهن فلم يقبل بهن أحد.
